  Sublingual Immunotherapy

  WHY ALTERNATIVE APPROACH?

  WHAT'S THE PROTOCOL?

What is Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT)?
Sublingual Immunotherapy is alternative method that utilizes allergy drops to build the body's tolerance. Allergy drops are slowly increased doses of physician prescribed antigens that help strengthen the immune system over time. SLIT works in ways that are similar to allergy shots. The difference is that in SLIT, serum is placed under the tongue and affects the immune system through mast cells found there. Research shows that these cells are a friendlier and more effective route for long-term desensitization. Most patients receive allergy drops for 3-5 years.
